WinterRoots is a family farm a dream come true to find a place like Golden - surrounded by epic adventures in all directions, and filled with epic people to share them with. Hardy, tough, creative, kind and connected - this community inspires us to show up with our passions and contribute to a thriving & sustainable local food system.
Our Story
Our family moved to Golden in 2024, just after our son was born and were stoked to find this a great place for a young family. We had been previously operating a small-scale mushroom farm for 5 years on Vancouver Island, but after life's twists and turns we took a leap of faith into a new chapter in the Rockies. After becoming parents we had an amazing opportunity to purchase 5 acres of raw land in the Blaeberry Area just west of Golden. Surrounded by dazzling cedars, birch and larch, listening to hummingbirds and woodpeckers we are slowly (or actually quite quickly) building our home.
